History of Fuquay-Varina

Originally visitors would travel near and far to a quinte town today known as fuquay-varina seeking the healing power of local springs.
In recent times the town has flourished into family-oriented location offering waffle street Two historic down-towns and great festivals

In fact, many would argue the today’s modern day amenities blended with that vintage charm offered curative power all on their own.

John Byrne, the mayor of fuquay-varina North Carolina. Williams Fuquay, a gentleman who fought in the Revolutionary War and his descendants are the ones which settled in the Fuquay Springs area.

Varina was the name that a lady wrote to her soon be husband Squire Balantyne. Her name was Virginia but she signed a letter Varina. Eventually they got married and that square where Varina comes from, fuquay Springs was the name of the town from 1909 to 1963 the town then had its name changed to Fuquay-Varina and thus the name a Fuquay-Varina ran.

Much of the downtown area has been preserved with the revitalization effort and the sidewalks, the lighting and making it certainly user-friendly.

We have a car shows in one of the town parking lots. you know I think Fuquay-Varina is the garden spot of other of North Carolina. We’re celebrating our history and preserving our past as well as look into our future. in the last ten years Fuquay-Varina has more than double in size and remains committed to preserving historic past.
